Adam Tompkison is a Frame-Maker by Trade. He creates a diverse range of frames for Museums and Commission, emphasizing the importance of craftsmanship.
Using the knowledge from his craft, he pushes his art practice forward, creating custom pieces from frame cutoff and used skateboards.
His precision work is most notably visible in The San Francisco Museum of Art’s Framed Exhibitions. While studying Preservation Framing at the MOMA, he has developed recognition for custom finished woodworking. He is most proud and passionate to create work that speaks to his culture, and is not only functional but holds meaning.
